What you can say to Siri
Nodus adds a set of Siri phrases to your iPhone. Each one includes the app’s name:
- “Capture in Nodus”. Siri asks what to capture, reads the plan back, then saves, changes or discards it.
- “What’s due in Nodus”. What is overdue and due today.
- “What’s coming up in Nodus”. The next seven days, by day.
- “Is the car service done in Nodus”. The status of an item you name.
- “What am I focusing on in Nodus”. Your current Focus item.
- “Mark the car service done in Nodus”. Completes an item.
- “Tick off a step in Nodus” or “Next step done in Nodus”. Ticks a single step.
The phrases also appear in the Shortcuts app, where you can add them to your Home Screen.
Capture by voice, with a plan read back
Siri is only the way in. What you say goes through the same structuring as the app’s voice to-do list: a title, steps, a date and a reminder. Siri reads the result back before anything is saved, and you can ask for a change.
If Siri mishears “Nodus”
Nodus is said “know-dis”. Siri sometimes hears another word, so Nodus registers a few alternative names. If it still gets it wrong, say the name the way it understands you, or make your own short phrase in the Shortcuts app and point it at the same action.
Private by default
Your items are personal and Siri reads them aloud, so every Nodus voice command needs your iPhone to be unlocked. It does not read your list out on a locked screen.
On Android
Long-press the Nodus icon for two shortcuts, New capture and Type a capture, and drag either onto your Home Screen. Add the “Nodus capture” tile to Quick Settings to start a capture from anywhere, and ask Gemini or Google Assistant to open Nodus like any other app. Spoken read-back of your list is iPhone only for now.
Questions people ask
Can I add a to-do with Siri?
Yes. Say “Capture in Nodus”. Siri asks what to capture, reads back the plan Nodus made, and saves it when you confirm.
What should I say to hear what is due?
Say “What’s due in Nodus” for what is overdue and due today, or “What’s coming up in Nodus” for the next seven days.
Does it work with the iPhone locked?
No. Nodus voice commands need the phone unlocked because they read your items aloud.
Siri keeps mishearing the name. What can I do?
Nodus is said “know-dis”. Try that, or create your own phrase in the Shortcuts app for the action you use most.
Is there a way to start a capture quickly on Android?
Yes. Long-press the Nodus icon for New capture or Type a capture, or add the Nodus capture tile to Quick Settings.
